If you wish to connect to the SoCS Windows Servers from off campus, you must first set up the UoG VPN. Instructions to do so can be found [[https://www.uoguelph.ca/ccs/anyconnect-vpn-user-guide|here]].

=== Connecting to Windows ===

The SoCS Windows servers are available via Remote Desktop. Remote Desktop is installed in the Thronbrough 2420 MacLab. It is installed by default on Windows, and is available through the [[https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id715768417?mt=12|App Store]] on OS X.

Open the Remote Desktop Connection application
Enter "windows.socs.uoguelph.ca" in the "Computer" field.

If you receive a message "The server name on the certificate is incorrect", ignore this and choose "Connect".
You will then be asked to enter your credentials: 
   * Username: Enter your SoCS Username
   * Password: Enter your SoCS Password
   * Domain: Enter "SOCS"

You should now be connected to the SoCS Windows Servers
