SoCS has many servers with TLS certificates to encrypt network connections.
On occasion during the annual renewal process, one of these servers would be missed, which would lead to expired certificate errors when connecting
SoCS uses Nagios to monitor the health of all servers we manage. A new check using the check_ssl_cert plugin was set up and configured to warn when a certificate is 60 days from expiring, and display a critical alert at 30 days.
This new check was applied to any servers which use a TLS certificate to ensure we are warned about any that may be missed during the renewal process.
