Anaconda in THRN 3401 Lab
- The sessional lecuturer for CIS*6190 Machine Learning contacted SoCS Support looking for options for running machine learning programs on GPUs. Discrete graphics cards to allow CUDA based programs to be executed on them were added to THRN 3401 to support this usecase.
- To allow students to install any required python libraries, we decided to install Anaconda on the lab machines. This was done through Managed Desktops
- Students were directed on how to set up the Conda environments in their home folders which they have access to save files in, instead of the system directory which requires administrative permissions.
