Docker

The School of Computer Science has several docker images available for use. Our dockerhub account is socsguelph.

Installing Docker

Docker can be downloaded through the Docker Website. Direct links to the installers are also available below.

Images

Installing an image through Docker Hub is the easiest way to get started with a Docker Image. Once you have installed and started Docker on your machine, from a terminal run the command docker pull IMAGENAME, where IMAGENAME is the name of the image you wish to install. As soon as the download has completed, your image is ready to run. See below for a list of available SoCS Image Names.

Recommend only for advanced users, you can also build a docker container using one of the linked DockerFiles below.

SoCS Linux

This image replicates the packages available on the SoCS Linux/NoMachine cluster.

Image Name: socsguelph/socslinux

CIS 6020 Jupyter

This is the image for running Jupyter in CIS*6020.
