This is an old revision of the document!
Android Studio is the office distribution of the IntelliJ IDE for developing Android applications.
In THRN 2420, the iMac's labelled ULTRON, GGOBLIN and ?????? have Android Studio Installed for a specific SoCS user. If you need to use this IDE for CIS*3760, you will need to make a reservation with SoCS IT (help@socs.uoguelph.ca) to get set up. On each iMac, you will ONLY be able to use the iMac that was specifically set up for you (otherwise, you won't have access to the tools and libraries needed to build a project).
Also, you will have to use the folder /opt/local_user/AndroidStudioProjects for your project files. Android Studio explicitly does not support network home directories (i.e. your home directory when you log in).
If you need believe that you need to install additional Ad-On's to Android Studio, you can make your request to help@socs.uoguelph.ca but other support issues will take priority.
