Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is an important component pertaining to the evaluation of students here at the University of Guelph. The University of Guelph has published a large body of documentation regarding policies and procedures relating to academic misconduct, including Education and Remediation, Offences, Penalties, Procedures, Appeals, and Guidlines for Penalties Relating to Academic Misconduct.
Please note that any cases of academic misconduct must be submitted to the Academic Integrity Officer within 10 business days.
Academic Integrity Via Sneakoscope
Within SoCS, Sneakoscope and MOSS are used in conjunction for similarity testing of code submissions. These tools allow for a quantitative measure of the overall similarities between a set of submitted source code files to help identify cases of academic misconduct. Instructors can provide their own instructor-provided code to be omitted from the comparisons.
